Deja Vu

by: Tara Fields

Have you ever heard a whisper, or felt eyes staring in your back only to turn around and see no one?  Has a stranger's glance ever seemed oddly familiar? Those mystical funny feelings we sometimes get, like the feeling we're being watched, or the feeling that we call Deja Vu may actually not be far from the truth.

In the movie Deja Vu, Academy Award Winning actor Denzel Washington plays an  ATF Agent (Doug Carlin) who is investigating a Terrorist Act in New Orleans.  In order to solve the crime, Agent Carlin discovers he must solve the murder of a young woman named Claire played by the beautiful Paula Patton.  To help solve the case a top secret government project is revealed to Carlin that involves technology consisting of a network of satellites and several large screens that can see 4 days into the past at anyplace on earth, even seeing through the walls of buildings by using advanced imaging technology.

Soon Carlin discovers is that it is also possible to go back in time and change the events.

It sounds far fetched, which is exactly what Denzel thought before agreeing to make the film but after talking with a theoretical physicist and discovering that some of the imaging technology actually does exist and is being used in Iraq, he decided to go ahead with the film.

Agent Carlin becomes determined to prevent the disaster and save the lady but discovers that altering time isn't as simple as he thinks.  Shot on location in the ninth ward of New Orleans, this film reminds you how fragile life is and just how precious our time here is.
