I think that I may look mismatched by wearing two different types of denim together...

Dear Guru,

I wear a lot of denim and have several items I wear almost on a weekly basis like denim jackets.  Because denim colors and washes change all the time sometime I think that I may look mismatched by wearing two different types of denim together.  Is it okay to do this?

Dear Ms. Matched,

I guess at some point this would be a hard thing to avoid.  My advice... Look at the total balance of the outfit.  Mixing and matching layers, fabrics, textures and colors is what modern dressing is all about.  You certainly can get away with different shades of denims that complement one another.  Just balance them out with another item or accessories of the same shade, or simply consider the contrasting garment as an accent piece to an otherwise balanced outfit.

Dear Guru,

I'm originally from L.A. but travel frequently.  During a trip to Memphis I was invited to a party where the dress code was said to be upscale.  I get there and people are wearing jeans with blazers and sneakers and I think WTF.  I felt out of place in my suit which probably cost more than every outfit at the party combined.  Should I try to fit in where ever I go or should I not even be worried about standing out in situations like this.

Dear Don,

I feel your pain, man...  I think there are certain situations that call for a certain type of dress; casual parties are necessarily not one of them.  Style is about self expression and comfort.  Keep in mind, in different parts of America, even more so in different parts of the World people's perception of fashion and style varies greatly.  Upscale in one part of the country may be a lot less casual than in another.  You have to think about the local culture, the type of event, as well as the type of people attending, atmosphere and location of the event.  There may not be a fool proof way to dress for an occasion especially if it's an unfamiliar scene.  Just dress in a manner that you are most comfortable with and don't worry about standing out.  That can be a good thing as many celebrities pay top dollar for stylist to help them stand out in a crowd.  Like I always say feeling good about how you look is always in style!

Dear Guru,

I recently had twins and already had a kind of large bosom, but now they are way out of proportion with the rest of my body which makes getting dressed most of the times a nightmare.  I can
